Environment

We are not perfect, but we do our best.

To claim that a product is good for the environment, it must give more than it takes. This would mean that the positive result of producing a lamp would leave the environment better off than what we had to take from it. Unfortunately, this is a significant challenge with today's technologies and systems. However, what we can do is constantly question what can be improved and whether the current norms are truly the right approach.

As a small-scale company with our own production, we’ve been granted unique opportunities, but also face certain challenges. We currently have the ability to manufacture lamps using plant-based materials on demand, which means we avoid the environmental impact of fossil-based production. It also allows us to minimize the amount of material processed.

Together with Swedish company AddNorth, we also use their locally produced plant-based plastic when possible. For instance, all of the white plastic in our production comes from them.

The challenges we face mainly concern the electronics we use and shipping. In the long term, we’d like to see electronics manufactured closer to us, with a stronger environmental focus.

As for shipping, we've chosen to use only paper and cardboard for packaging to the greatest extent possible, something we take great pride in.

The environment is here to stay, and we want to do what we can.
